The radiation environment and safety research division organizes researches and academic activities to evaluate the radiological effects of radioactive materials released into the environment during normal operation as well as accidents of nuclear facilities, and to minimize the damage on humans and the environment. It also includes research activities related to improve the safety of operating nuclear power plants, radiation safety management and emergency response, radiation/radioactivity measurement and analysis, radioactive waste safety issues, and safety regulations to reasonably manage radiations around the living environment.

  • Radioactive material dispersal and environmental impact assessment technology
  • Environmental radiation/radioactivity measurement and analysis
  • Radiation safety management and dose assessment technology
  • Radiation emergency response and preparedness technology
  • Radioactive waste safety issues and radionuclides analysis technology
  • Safety management of radiations around the living environment and natural radionuclide analysis technology
  • Various radiation measurement systems and their optimization technologies
  • Radiobiology and low-dose radiation effects assessment technologies
